EPIMYTHIUM

by DANIEL McCOY

Directed by HONDO WEISS-RICHMOND

August 24 @ 4PM

In 12th century England, an unknown woman penned some of the greatest poetry of her time, influencing generations of writers. Known only by her first name and her fantastical fables, Marie de France’s own story has remained hidden for nine hundred years. In Daniel McCoy’s new play EPIMYTHIUM, fantasy and reality collide as Marie’s epic tales of romance, betrayal, and deceit are the seed for a new vision of her life and secrets. Simple Machine, in partnership with the Resident Lab at Charlestown Working Theater,  is thrilled to present a reading of this script, which combines theatre, puppetry, film, and animation to discover the world of Marie de France and share her amazing stories.
