About Simple Machine Simple Machine makes theatre for artists and audiences. Simple machines are the essential building blocks of every complex mechanical device that moves and changes the world around us. Character, language, and action are the essential elements at the heart of all theatre. By focusing on these fundamentals, Simple Machine makes theatre that is engaging, accessible, and affordable. Our FoundersSTEPHEN LIBBY has a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University. He has appeared locally playing Dylan Thomas in Boston Playwrights Theatre and Boston Children’s Theatre’s production of A Child’s Christmas in Wales. Audiences may remember him as Guildenstern in Bad Habit Productions’ Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, or as Rosencrantz in TheatreZone’s production. He has also appeared with Bad Habit as Rulon Stacey in The Laramie Project and as Milton and Don in All in the Timing. At TheatreZone, he has appeared as the Non-Believer in Anger Box, Dad / Elvis in Cooking with Elvis, Eisenring in The Firebugs, and Berenger in Rhinoceros. With the Publick Theatre, Stephen has appeared as Bunny in Misalliance, Dromio of Ephesus in Comedy of Errors, and Starveling in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has also appeared locally with Wheelock Family Theatre, Exquisite Corps, Shakespeare Now!, Opera Boston, Makeshift Theatre Co., and on tour with Shakespeare & Company. Stephen is a graphic designer who has worked in Marketing and Operations for a number of companies in Boston. ANNA WALDRON is thrilled and exhausted to be both on stage and off for Simple Machine’s inaugural production! Anna holds a BA in Theatre from Northeastern University. She worked as an assistant producer on The Complete works of William Shakespeare (abridged) with Orfeo Group and has volunteered for New Repertory Theater and Bad Habit Productions, but this production marks the first time taking the lead (co-lead) behind the wheel.
